Nudes portfolio
Mobile phones have a lot to answer for! As soon as I got hold of a mobile phone with a camera, I started taking pictures. I was pretty impressed with the idea of carrying a device, with a wealth of functions, including taking photographs. To do it with a mobile phone became pretty liberating. My relation with photography became more relaxed and I was able to enjoy the process again.
The subject matter is varied but equally relaxed: essentially I use the phone to take pictures of people, places and nudes. The first phone had less then 1 million pixels (sonyericsson 750), yet the pictures seemed incredibly reasonable. Some of these make up the first 10 images of this portfolio.
| Since then I acquired another phone (sonyericsson 800), this time with just over 2 million pixels. I enjoy the various elements combined within the phone: its practical, it’s small and fairly unobtrusive, we carry it all the time, much like a purse or keys.
This particular portfolio is all made of nudes. Again they were taken in a rather spontaneous way, without any pre-conception… I photographed what was there in front of me, and from then on we just played with it. There’s simplicity about this images, but they are equally beautiful and captivating. While I started doing this out of spontaneity, I’m keen to pursue nude photography in a more serious way. |
